Meet the Counselor

I’m Nikki Layne, a LPCC in the state of KY. My work as a counselor over the last 9+ years inspired me to establish my own practice, Counseling in the Holler, LLC. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients, including adults, children, and adolescents, as well as those in Addiction Recovery, School-Based Therapy, and Outpatient services. One of my greatest passions is working with dual diagnosis clients and the LGBTQI+ community. As a proud member of the LGBTQI+ community myself, I’m deeply committed to helping individuals know they are seen, heard, and accepted—and that they are always worthy of love and support. My goal is to create a space where everyone can feel understood and empowered on their journey toward healing.

I began my educational journey at Morehead State University before taking a break and transferring to the University of Pikeville (UPike), where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree. I then pursued my Master of Education in Counseling and Human Development at Lindsey Wilson College, which enabled me to become licensed as a counselor in the state of Kentucky.

My approach is eclectic, incorporating a range of therapeutic techniques such as person-centered therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). I am committed to creating a safe and open environment where clients feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and emotions without fear of judgment.

At Counseling in the Holler, LLC, I offer telehealth services to ensure accessibility for those who may find it difficult to seek help in person. I commend you for taking the courageous step to reach out for support, as initiating that first session can be daunting. Together, we will explore your emotions, confront challenges, and uncover your strengths, guiding you toward a fulfilling life aligned with your values and aspirations. I look forward to working with you on your journey toward wellness. Everyone is welcome here, and I am excited to support you in your path to healing and growth.
