Frequently Asked Questions

  • In a counseling session, you can expect a confidential, supportive space to discuss your concerns. The first session may take a bit longer, as we will gather background and health information, explain the counseling process, and obtain the necessary signatures on forms. This helps us understand your needs and establish your goals. Follow-up sessions are typically 53-60 minutes and focus on working together to address the issues you want to explore and make progress on. Your counselor will guide you through the process, offering tools and strategies for growth.

  • Telehealth counseling offers a wide range of benefits, which are often tailored to each individual’s unique needs. A counselor’s role is to provide support, teach valuable skills, and help clients discover new coping mechanisms for challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, or creative blocks. You don’t need to have a major mental health disorder to benefit from therapy. In fact, therapy can be an excellent resource for personal growth and improving various aspects of your life, including relationships, family dynamics, and career concerns.

However, it’s important to remember that therapy isn’t about a quick fix. The real transformation happens when you take the skills and insights you learn in therapy and apply them to your everyday life.

  • Telehealth counseling offers several benefits, making it a convenient and effective option for many individuals. One of the main advantages is flexibility—therapy can be done from the comfort of your own home or any private space, eliminating the need for travel time and making it easier to fit into a busy schedule. Telehealth also increases accessibility for those who may have mobility issues or live in remote areas, allowing you to receive support regardless of your location.

Another benefit is privacy. Many clients feel more at ease in their own environment, which can promote a sense of safety and openness during sessions. Telehealth counseling also offers the ability to connect with a therapist even if you're unable to meet in person due to weather conditions, illness, or other personal reasons.

While telehealth counseling offers great flexibility, it’s important to have a reliable internet connection and a quiet, private space for your sessions to ensure the best experience. It provides the same therapeutic benefits as in-person sessions, including emotional support, skill-building, and guidance for addressing personal challenges like stress, anxiety, depression, and relationship issues.
